A bit about Me
I am a recent Norwich University College of the Arts graduate specialising in Graphic Design, mainly print & web based media along with some web development experience. I am very fluent in the Adobe Creative Suites, mainly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver aswell as a limited knowledge of Flash. Primarily I use a Mac for all design work, but I can use the Windows platform when needed. As part of my time at NUCA I gained an understanding of different work places due to the amount of work placements that I successfully earned.
2012 Update
This site has been dormant for over a year now due to a large workload and no time to personally update this, now Out-of-date site.
I have thus planned to update this site to a slightly different design but with a fully PHP core that keeps things up to date a lot better and with a lot more features that, not only showcase my Design work but that of the web sites that I have been working on.
In the last year I have created a whole identity for what will be a national company(interior and retail design), along with designing 8 websites and building 5; ranging from personal portfolios to company sites. Currently I manage 6 websites of which this is one of them, and have some projects ongoing at the moment. I now use PHP and develop Wordpress sites, which will be apparent when the new site goes live later on this year(depending on work flow) and will look forward to hearing from my visitors as to their thoughts on the update.
New Website Launched
For those of you who saw my previous website, you can instantly see that this new and improved site has been updated to get the most out of the site, from the new, easy to update and maintain design to the code behind it all that has been fully rewritten to speed up the requests made by the server.
I have tried to test the new site with all the browsers that I can get hold of but things can go astray when you use older browsers, or those that are not in the top five; where problems stop you from accessing the content you would like to, please let me know so that I can help you by correcting the problem/s as soon as possible. Feel free to explore the Creative Cakery, blogs and galleries to get an overview of who I am as well as what I do. I am releasing this updated home page with the intention of adding the remaining pages as soon as they are completed, so a lot of the links do not work at the moment, or link to a previous version of that page as a temporary preceedure. Thank you in advance for being patient.
Update
Since posting my updated website I have received much more site traffic, of which it recently became apparent that I had not looked into the specific details of the Google Font Api system. When using the custom fonts, I assumed that they would be fully compatible due to the fact that the fonts are stored on the Google servers opposed to a local server or machine; but I did not look into the FAQ's of the directory which states that the only compatible browsers are: Google Chrome: version 4.249.4+, Mozilla Firefox: version: 3.5+, Apple Safari: version 3.1+, Opera: version 10.5+, Microsoft Internet Explorer: version 6+, and although this isn't a huge problem, it does mean that big companies, that for security & productivity reasons, do not have the latest browsers will generally see Helvetica rather than the Scripture font, making the whole design fall down. Without getting into 'Font Replacement' code I cannot change this occurrence.
*Portfolio Going Live*
*_Changed date due to work load_*
It has been a long time since the site went live and the promise of a portfolio is yet to be fulfilled. Due to a lack of a 'proper' filing structure the majourity of files had become very hard to locate, I have now located all the files and during the next few weeks will be uploading them, because of work load this will be in one hit.
I hope you'll join me on the 1st of March for the update.
Portfolio Taster
Churchill's Speech Double Paged Spread was my first exposure to InDesign, not only did it spark off my love for publishing it gave me a wider knowledge of layouts. I have not updated this file since 2008 and yet it is still a good representation of my work.
